Description
Tether (USDT) is a stablecoin, a type of cryptocurrency designed to maintain a stable value by pegging its price to a reserve of assets, typically fiat currency like the US dollar. Launched in 2014 by Tether Limited, USDT is one of the most widely used stablecoins in the cryptocurrency market. It allows traders to move money between exchanges quickly and avoid the volatility often associated with cryptocurrencies. Each Tether token is intended to be backed 1:1 by the corresponding fiat currency held in reserve.
