Greed

The Fear & Greed Index is an indicator that measures the overall sentiment of the crypto market, swinging between fear and greed.

When the index is low (0-24), there is extreme fear: investors are scared, selling dominates, and prices usually drop.

When the index is high (75-100), there is extreme greed: investors are euphoric, buying heavily, and prices rise quickly (sometimes irrationally).

The index is updated daily and is based on several factors:
  • Price volatility (how fast prices move)
  • Trading volumes (how much is being bought and sold)
  • Social media trends
  • Google search trends
  • Bitcoin dominance compared to altcoins

Quick interpretation:
  • 0-24 → Extreme Fear
  • 25-49 → Fear
  • 50-74 → Greed
  • 75-100 → Extreme Greed

In short:
Extreme fear = Potential buying opportunities
Extreme greed = Risk of bubbles and possible corrections

It’s a useful tool to gauge the market mood, but it shouldn't be the only factor in making decisions.
